8 Week Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Fundamentals Course

Greetings all, 

We’re looking forward to welcoming you to AMMA Gym for your BJJ Fundamentals class. To enable the class to run smoothly we’d like to get some housekeeping arrangements out of the way.

As a reminder, the first class is Monday, October 12th at 7pm.

For your first class, please arrive early to sign in and get some paperwork out of the way.  Please wear shorts and a t-shirt/rash guard. If you have a BJJ or Judo Gi (uniform) already, please bring that with you.

For those of you who don’t have one, we can issue you a loan gi jacket and belt. This will be yours to keep for the duration of the course but will be subject to a refundable security deposit. Please allow some time to try on your gi. Your gi should be washed, clean and dry prior to each session. If you already attend some of our other classes or are in the area, feel free to swing by reception between now and the 12th to pick up your gi.

We recommend that you wear a mouth guard while training but this is not mandatory.

Jewellery is not allowed on the mat.

Bring a water bottle and stay hydrated throughout the class. There will be regular breaks.

Classes begin promptly at 7pm so please be ready to step on the mat at that time.

Starting anything new can be daunting, especially if you’ve never trained a martial art before. Everyone who currently trains BJJ remembers the nerves they had on their first lesson. We’ve all been through it. For those if you joining us for the first time you can expect a whole new vocabulary, secret handshakes, good times and friendly training partners.  Can’t wait to see you all on the mat!
